River Hamilton is a 6-2, 160 pound RHP/3B from Wood Village and a Sophomore at Gresham's Sam Barlow High School. Last year as a freshman, he earned HM on the Mt. Hood Conference All League team. Hamilton becomes the second pitcher and third recruit from Barlow HS to commit to OSU in the last 3 years, and will follow RHP Jaren Hunter and C Wilson Weber to Corvallis.
River throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy motion and reaches 86 mph with his fastball, 71-73 with a curve ball spinning at 2,951 rpm (exceptional), and a tumbling change up. In the summer, he has played with the Northwest Stars 16u and USA Prime-Arizona on the travel team circuit.
River is a multi-sport athlete with a 3.45 GPA. He is the 11th member of Oregon State's standout 2025 class and the 7th member of that class with pitching experience and "potential". Another high ceiling prospect for Coach Dorman's workshop.
