Beaver Baseball season begins (with COUNTING GAMES) in just 91 days.
Unfortunately for those travelling south, there is not a follow-up warm-weather series anywhere after Surprise (Beavs oddly return to Corvallis for a late February home series).
But! for southern travellers, all is not lost!!! From Mar 2 - 5, Beavs will be in San Luis Obispo for a 4 game / 4 day series. Possibility: enjoy the sunny, warm southern climes of AZ and SoCal for 8-9 days and then land in SLO (Cal Poly) in early March.
Cal Poly lost their 1st round draft pick, Lee Brooks, to 2022 MLB draft last summer, but their program has traditionally been in the upper echelon of the Big West. Might be worth checking out.
While in Surprise, OSU plays Minnesota in each of these team's SECOND game. Will the Gophers save (RHP) George Klassen for the Beav game? Klassen hits 102 on the radar but had a tough 2022 college season (14.09 ERA) - though in the summer of 2022 he was ranked as the #1 prospect in the Northwoods League.
