Have some very upset or very distracted friends, there are a lot of "royalists" in the US and an event like this will have them glued to the tv/internet.

I do not understand the fascination that people have with royals that have little to no power. Weird. I read this someplace else. It's as good an explanation as anything. "England and America shared common cultural, legal and religious roots. Even though the United States separated from England, we retained the English Common Law and expanded on the democratic principles that were found in Parliament but without a monarchy. Sharing a language made following the Royals easier than following the Japanese Royal Family or the Dutch."

Let's face it: Queen has never been the same without Freddie Mercury.

Have some very upset or very distracted friends, there are a lot of "royalists" in the US and an event like this will have them glued to the tv/internet. I do not understand the fascination that people have with royals that have little to no power. Weird. In practice, limited power. In reality, the Royal Family has a ton of power. They just know that exercising it would probably cause them to lose what they have. They do have the right to call Dominions of the English Commonwealth to fight for England, like what happened to Canada in World War I. The United Kingdom declared war on Nazi Germany on September 3, 1939. Canada declared war on September 10, 1939. Of course, back then, Newfoundland was technically still part of the United Kingdom until the 1949 referendum, so it would have been weird if Canada had not joined in the war effort. Also, I mean in 1975, Queen Elizabeth II's Governor General of Australia fired a duly-elected Prime Minister, in order to force an election to get more liberals elected. Queen Elizabeth II is the official sovereign of 56 countries including Canada. The actual executive of Canada is the Governor General, who the queen appointed. My question is, though, does King Charles III wind up on the Canadian money, or do other Commonwealth countries start going the way that Barbados did and amend their Constitutions to be try Republics, rather than Constitutional Monarchies.

On the bright side, the “Royal” news will now focus on the Queen, and we get a break from the irritating and insufferable Megan and Harry.

Queen Elizabeth came to the United States during the Bicentennial in 1976 and gave the United States the Bicentennial Bell. The bell was on display until 2013. It has since been put into storage until a proper display area can be created for it. On September 12, 2001, Queen Elizabeth played the Star Spangled Banner at the Changing of the Guard for all of the Americans trapped in England, because of the grounding of all planes into the United States after 9/11: This was the first time that any nation's anthem had been played at the Changing of the Guard, other than during a state visit, in approximately 600 years. On July 6, 2010, Queen Elizabeth toured Ground Zero, placed a wreath, met with relatives of victims and first responders, and opened the Queen Elizabeth II Garden near Ground Zero as a tribute to the 67 United Kingdom victims of September 11, 2001: Just last September, she had the Guard play Star-Spangled Banner on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks: She was a truly uniting force amongst the Anglosphere, the more than two billion English-speaking people throughout the world. She will be missed. Hopefully Charles III is at least half the monarch as his mother.

Like I said, limited to little. They could potentially shoot themselves in the foot if they ever used it, which they won’t. Yet some how, many Americans are obsessed with them. I don’t get it.

Stay out of the news and social media you dumb asses! I wish. The last three news notifications about the stupid royals I got today were about Megan and Harry. I guess it’s time to find a new news app.
