I sort of lost track of this stuff now that my kids are out of high school...
Just noticed they've combined the Salem-area 6A schools with the Southern Oregon schools. So McNary/Sprague/N.Salem/West Salem + Roseburg, Grants Pass, South & North Medford in the same conference.
That seems like an insane amount of travel. 3 1/2 hours from Salem to Medford? More like 4 to 4 1/2 in a bus? Yikes.
Ducks petitioning to get in if they can't lock up a B10 slot. Hey-oh....

The OSAA has completely messed up classifications ever since it abandoned the old 4-class system. |

A couple years when I was in HS we were shrewdly put in the “Cross State League.” We traveled to Eastern Idaho, all the way to Rexburg from Caldwell! Two stops on the trip for hoops. Nice in the winter! One time heading home our Greyhound slid off the road on the on ramp to the freeway! Time to call a wrecker? Get an emergency backup bus? Nope. Ok boys! Everyone out and push! Rock the bus as he spins snow, slush and gravel on your JC Penney Blue Blazer and pants! Ha ha! Good times! |
