is getting close to being ready to play, and to watch for a team to sign him before Aug 31 and stash him on the short term injury list so he can start in Sept and be eligible for post season play. Hopefully he can make it back and put up a decent month going into trying to get a long term contract next season.

It would take both Boyd and Conforto on the playoff roster to bring me back! Boyd threw an inning for Tacoma on the 13th and 16th. He pitched two innings on the 19th and today. Absent a set-back, I am guessing that he gets called up next week, unless someone gets hurt for the Mariners beforehand

It would take both Boyd and Conforto on the playoff roster to bring me back! The Mariners making that playoffs for the first time since 2001 should be enough on its own - the longest postseason drought (current) in all of North American major league sports is in jeopardy!

Why would they want to ruin a perfectly good streak?

Why would they want to ruin a perfectly good streak? Glancing at the standings, it looks like the team that is in the best position to oust the Mariners from the playoffs is Baltimore (they trail the Mariners by 2.5 gms for a wildcard). THAT is a great ("why"?) reason for Seattle to continue their 'perfectly good streak'. It would be sweet to see Adley in the post-season. Even better if the Orioles sign Conforto to be their September/October DH.

If the Yankees could just straight-up implode, so the Twins could sneak in. That would be great, as well.

And now that 2022-2023 free agent signing season is well-underway, most rumors leans toward: a.) Conforto getting only a 1-year contract, to 'prove' himself
b.) the teams most mentioned are the Mets and the Cubs In these heady days of Kwan and Adley in the MLB chatter-sphere, it seems like the Conforto glory years were ages ago, especially since he did not play in 2022. I'm hoping that he ain't done yet.

Now that the Mets have awarded $86 Million on a 2-yr contract to a 40 year old elite RHP (Verlander)...maybe that increases the likelihood that Conforto doesn't re-sign with the Mets...
...and instead goes Astros, Mariners or Tampa Bay (those are the currently rumored teams).
I suppose a 1-year 'prove it" contract is expected, but it sorta rubs me wrong. If a team wants you, it'd be better if they would be willing to prove it with a 2 or 3 year contract.

Never thought of Conforto as a cheater, so Mariners or TB, please.

Currently it seems Astros and Mets getting most net speculation, with Mariners and Cubs leading second tier.

Atlanta is said to be a player for Michael too, they need a bat in left field.
