RIP  ... she was so beautiful and her voice was angelic. Besides all the classic songs she released herself I remember this duet she did with John Denver from 1975 "Fly Away" ... video from Denver's 1976 Christmas Special: Now they are both singing together again on Heaven's choir... |

Was not a big fan of her music in general, - just personal taste.
Except this one - accompanied by LA studio gunslingers from Toto (Steve Lukather, David Paich, David Hungate). What a sound.
Lots of late 70's cheesiness in this vid but she's at the top of her game vocally and the groove is pretty irresistible.

I find it pretty hilarious that the video is titled "Have You Ever Been Mellow", when the actual song is "Have You NEVER Been Mellow". I remember seeing Xanadu at the Bagdad Theater in Portland back in the day. My older brother brought me to see it, I'm quite sure his only interest was in watching Olivia. What a babe. |
