Tough luck if people don’t like seeing erroneous assertions corrected. I’ve certainly made my share and generally appreciate being corrected & don’t take it personally. This is my fault. I meant to say, "They are banned from PGA TOUR events. The PGA TOUR does not run the British Open, the US Open, the Masters or the PGA Championship."
As stated later, the PGA Tour and the Professional Golfers Association, which runs the PGA Championship, are separate entities. People regularly call the PGA Tour the PGA, and I made that mistake.
The devil is in the details, and I messed up by not being concise.

As stated later, the PGA Tour and the Professional Golfers Association, which runs the PGA Championship, are separate entities. People regularly call the PGA Tour the PGA, and I made that mistake. The devil is in the details, and I messed up by not being concise. Thanks. Makes sense. Bottom line then is that while the LIV golfers are banned from the PGA Tour, they are not banned from the PGA Championship, since the PGA Tour does not run the PGA Championship (it is run by the PGA of America, a separate entity). That’s what had puzzled me. |
