Oregon State Baseball continues to stack year after year of winning tradition. The Maestro is still in the area advising when asked and the Athletic Department is supportive. OSU has an exceptional group of young coaches that are born and bred Beavers. Nationally ranked, nationally recognized and respected - an elite program built on a solid foundation and backed by the best fans in the country.
Oregon State Baseball is in a good place and in good hands.

Mitch has kept the ship level and started recruiting at a very high level. Shown ability to learn and adjust.
Considering how small and performance based the salary is compared to football and basketball I'm happy to see him locked in for the rest of the decade. Unlikely he goes anywhere which means no matter how conferences get smashed around were still going to be a baseball destination.

I'll say it again: Any reasonable expectation for a new coach at OSU (assuming he's good) is to reach a super regional in year 5. It doesn't matter how good Casey was; a northern school like OSU still has inherent recruiting disadvantages, and taking another coach's team and making it yours (and convincing new recruits you're the real deal) takes time. But Mitch did this in 3 years (actually 2 and 1/3rd), and was 1 run from Omaha.
Hot take: Covid and its timing was an all-around benefit to this program and this coaching staff. There was bound to be a brutal transition with any coaching change after Case left, and we went through 2 of them between Bailey and Canham. That 2020 season started off the rails and was looking like a complete train wreck. Giving everybody extra time to acclimate and bond together likely produced more intangible benefits than we'll ever know...
