There’s more enthusiasm, energy, charisma and personality in the first minute of that clip than in the previous coach’s entire tenure. Also I listened to an interview with Kaylor. He almost transfered out when Z was fired. He had been told by Z, we bring you in and you redshirt during Bressers last year, after that, you're the guy and I won't bring anyone else. Coach P has a completely different philosophy, and challenged Kaylor by telling him he was gonna go find a new 125 to take his spot. Kaylor almost quit on OSU right then, but changed his mind and has worked hard ever since. That one comment from Z is the most telling for the decline of the program.

That one comment from Z is the most telling for the decline of the program. it's like the opposite of Coach Casey i.e. "I don't choose the starting lineup, the players do." Love that line and I use it often when I coach. Telling a guy or gal they have a guaranteed spot does not inspire or motivate, and whether it's true or not it will breed mediocrity and discontent.
