While I was teaching last night, my son noticed a swarm of honey bees on a tree he parks near by our home. He called a bee expert to come out, and by the time I got home that evening, I had become the adoptive father of 15,000 Italian honeybees.
We have them in the back and they seem to be settling into their new hive, but as you can guess, we know next to nothing about beekeeping. Although it’s fun learning something new, it is also overwhelming.
Anyone else out there keeping a hive of bees? Any resources to recommend?

I suspect it's a lot like owning a boat. So yesterday was the second-happiest day of your life.
Actually my first cousin has bees and a business selling honey, I think. But he lives in Indiana so I don't know a darn thing about it.

I am not much of a salesman by nature, so I might just give it away. Maybe call it Beever Honey. Lol

They may be able to offer some advice.

Pretty relaxing.

We host bees every summer for a local bee keeper. They spend summer in the back pasture with the horses.
