Well, we sure are in the conversation for some of the elite women's hoops players in the country. Amazing what a very, very good coach and a Final Four run will do for recruiting.....
Now we just have to land these recruits among very stiff competition!
Go Beavs!

More to read and appreciate about Class of 2018 OSU recruiting target NaLyssa Smith from Texas in the ESPNW link below. I saw her play in August 2015 following her freshman season in a showcase event in Seattle. She gets off the floor quickly and has the potential to be a double-double machine at the Division 1 level. Great to read that OSU has made recruiting contact and is listed by NaLyssa in her Final 15. www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/17388199/versatile-recruit-nalyssa-smith-wowing-fans-years

Class of 2018 OSU recruiting target NaLyssa Smith is now a junior and continues to impress observers and evaluators with her length, dribbling skills in a forward's body, athleticism, and overall offensive skills. Below is a brief video that displays some of her hops. The fact that OSU made her list of 15 schools and remains under consideration is encouraging. Smith has played with a number of very talented players on the SA Finest AAU squad, an adidas team, out of Texas. The addition of NaLyssa would be a major coup for any school on the west coast. Lots of Texas schools for OSU to have to compete with in order to attract one of the nation's top recruiting prizes. usatodayhss.com/2016/video-texas-sophomore-nalyssa-smith-is-dunking-now

More observations about OSU recruiting target NaLyssa Smith from Bluestar Media's Mark Lewis are shared below. The observations were made in late May 2016 after the first day of the USA Basketball U17 trials in Colorado Springs. NaLyssa Smith – 2018 – 6-3 – Forward – Converse, Texas A smooth, fluid athlete, Smith has a deep set of both physical and basketball tools to call upon. The size and length are there to allow her to be a factor against any opposing defender. Add to it an impressive first step plus some solid perimeter skills and you’ve got the versatility that coaches love. She has an attacking mentality but needs to be a bit more judicious in picking her spots off the dribble. The size and agility make her a candidate to be an imposing defender in almost any scheme. www.bluestarmedia.org/usa-basketball-u17-trials-day-one/

The Beavers paid a home visit to NaLyssa Smith on September 11. Beavs' coaching staff appears to have been the second program to obtain an home visit audience with the highly-rated recruit from Texas. Lots of coaching staffs will do likewise. See dates and programs in link below.

Can you tell I like this potential recruit? NaLyssa has moved up to #4 in the latest ESPN Class of 2018 rankings. Here's to hoping that the Beavs make her Final Five list in March 2017. "She won't narrow her list to five schools until March. In the meantime, she rattled off the schools she is considering: Baylor, Texas, Kansas, Texas Tech, TCU, Ohio State, Arizona State, West Virginia, Connecticut, Louisville, Oregon State, Notre Dame, Maryland, UCLA and Tennessee." www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/212435
