We sit outside nearly every night until dark. The dominant sound is the lonely, horny, male dove. It amazes me that those little birds can conjure up that incredible mating call. Night after night. Apparently without success in attracting a mate. Amazing sound.

Plus they go into the rafters of my shop building and dump crap all over the place. Glad I don't have a shotgun anymore though.  |

I’d wake up to the sounds of doves at my in-laws place in Tokyo. It was nice, except the doves would be up at sunrise which (without daylight savings time) was at 4:30 in the morning. Of course, everyone else was used to them and slept on. Ah, I miss those days. House is gone now. Probably built two in its place.
