Oregon State picked up their 6th nationally ranked recruit with the commitment of John Ritchie, a slugging first baseman from nationally ranked Huntington Beach, CA. HS. Ritchie is entering his Sophomore year and joins HB Oiler teammate Ethan Porter in the OSU class of '25. Porter is a promising RHP and touted hitter that plays 3B.
There is a lot of information out there on Ritchie. He's ranked #27 in California by PBR and #56 by RPG. Polished fielder, hits with power and is a "tremendous student" (Perfect Game). Plays on some big time travel teams, GBC Navy (Garciayparra baseball), Canes National, SoCal Giants, etc.
