to take the spot of Hanser Alberto, who is on paternity leave. This could be a short stint. Last big league appearance was 8/19/16.

Every day in MLB is worth about $3,900 ($700K minimum, divided by 180, # of days in the season). Stay up for 3-4 days and a minor-leaguer like Romero really boosts his salary for the season.

Didn’t see that coming! He wasn’t on their 40-man roster, but I don’t know if they can have him up for a short family leave situation without making a 40-man roster move.

They moved Edwin Rios from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL. Anyone on the 60-day IL does not count toward the 40. A player on family leave does not count toward the 26-man roster but still counts toward the 40-man roster.

Wow good for Stefen! Make it stick!
I am impressed with his persistence. 12 years now in various levels of the minors, majors and other professional leagues. He had a coupel cups of coffee with teh Mariners in 2014, 15 and 16. The last 6 years he has been a pretty good player in the Japanese league. Looks like he is giving MLB one last try?

He got DFAed on Saturday. Back to OKC, or he can declare free agency.
Also, Jace Fry signed with the Phillies.
