Tomorrow at Omaha, high 95 with 56% humidity. That is a heat index of 110. Sunday at Omaha, high 97 with 53% humidity. That is a heat index of 113. Monday at Omaha, high 100 with 50% humidity. That is a heat index of 118.
The hottest day at Scottsdale was Thursday. 102 degrees with 7% humidity. That is a heat index of 95.
Clouds are supposed to start rolling in on Tuesday and the rains on Wednesday. Until then, it is going to be terrible.

Teams want to go to Omaha in June. It's a goal from Day 1.
Teams don't want to do to Scottsdale in May. It's an unnecessary PITA.

I mean, it would be great, if they could find a better place to put the Tournament. But the two losers tomorrow will play in conditions 23 degrees hotter than Scottsdale. And Hoover in late May is a much better destination on what planet? And Stanford did not seem to mind one iota, winning four straight and a Pac-12 Championship. The Cardinal wrapped themselves in thermal blankets over sweaters, eating hot and sour soup, and drinking piping hot hot chocolate, while Beaver fans pissed and moaned about triple-degree heat. I really hope that Stanford decimates WPS tomorrow. Someone has to.

One site represents a mid point in the nation for teams from all states to travel to. The other is the absolute worst location in the Pac 12 except during winter. California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Utah are all more temperate and beautiful. Arizona was the worst possible choice.

I would say three teams were glad to be in Scottsdale, and another three wished they were in Scottsdale. But as long as the conference play is round robin, its pointless.

I would say three teams were glad to be in Scottsdale, and another three wished they were in Scottsdale. But as long as the conference play is round robin, its pointless. Arizona and Oregon had a chance to host with a great Pac-12 Tournament. UCLA needed every single win to get in comfortably with all of the bid stealers. Oregon State likely was the #2 overall seed and in Omaha, if the Beavers had won a Pac-12 Championship. Instead, Oregon State got saddled with an underrated #14 overall seed in the Corvallis Super Regional. Stanford won an undisputed Pac-12 Championship and got the #2 overall seed and is in Omaha. And it really helped all of the Pac-12 teams to have great RPIs. 2022 was the best conference RPI since at least 2015 (it has probably been much longer, but that is as far back as the easy-to-find conference RPIs go back). It should really be in a better location, but it was a very eventful Tournament all around, great for the conference.
