Unfortunately, the Elks are on the road. Interesting though at least to me.

Apparently he still has NAIA (National Association of Ineligible Athletes) eligibility. Not sure what school he is now enrolled at. He played two years of baseball at Notre Dame before concentrating solely on football.
He might help Port Angeles draw some fans; maybe he'll buy them a bus (which, contrary to popular belief, MJ did not do at Birmingham). One can debate what place a 33-year-old ex-professional athlete has in what is supposed to be a developmental league for college-age players, but the WCL says it's OK for him to play so that's that.
The Lefties are in Corvallis on July 1-3. He won't help sell any tickets to the July 3 game because that already sells out every year.

So far Golden Tate has played in 5 Port Angeles games (all were in his first 5 days & all were home games). Now he hasn't played in their last 5 games (4 of which have been on the road).
Secondhand word from a fellow WCL player: "one of the worst swings I've ever seen for a college player" [excused due to a dozen years of rust??].
After his successful 1st game, he's gone 3 for 15 with 5 SO. Very small sample, but every game he's played in has resulted in a lowering of his BA.
Have to see if he makes that June 30th bus ride down to Corvallis (it's only 315 miles!).
