T9. 4-3 BEAVS would love some insurance Big Duke K. Grettler walk Derneddie **call to the pen with 2-0 count** 1-3 bunt, not really a sac Boyd single to right, Derneddie out at home. One heck of a throw. Meckler Donkey scratch one more reliever available to Auburn tomorrow. Small correction- Grettler out at home Yeah, my bad. It was a heck of a throw. I almost missed the play as I was typing out RBI single. I was sure he would score

So we head into tomorrow with Kmatz, Hunter, Sebby, Lattery, Brown and Boisvert totally ready to go.
If they can play a clean game our chances look good.

True.. part of the reason for OSU's late season struggles was they weren't quite a sharp on defense and that led to extra runs for opponent. They led the Nation in defensive percentage for almost the entire season until late.

By the way, the best hitter in the country with the amazing OPS and big belly is 1-8 against Beaver pitching. Makes me wonder about the SEC. He said in an interview that the zone was smaller in the SEC compared to when he was at Stanford You mean Samford.

Both pitchers tonight moving themselves up in the draft, I think. Nice pitching boys! No kidding. Great to see Beaver moundsmen with some real fire. I think MLB Draft will be kind to Cooper & Ferrer. Ferrer WHIP = 0.83 / BAA = .176 Hjerpe WHIP = 0.87 / BAA = .180 As Jim Wilson just now said (twice), they are the 2 best pitchers on the team.

The Auburn starter tomorrow will be Mason Barnett.
He's a right hander that started the year in the bullpen, so he's not used to throwing 90+ pitches.
His last outing in the regional was against UCLA where he pitched very well.( 5 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 walks, 10 strike outs)
I think we'll win tomorrow no matter who they throw.

Need to be patient and wear him down.

Best part about that win is we cooled off a hot team. Not always an easy task, and not too surprising it took two games to do so.
But they came back to earth a bit, and we're set up about as good as we can be for a game 3.
Enough stressing about pitchers and who's ready to go and who's not. Tomorrow is all about our bats; it's their time to shine.

Game before UCLA, Kentucky sorta blew him up. His 3 games in May (all were SEC), he pitched 13 innings: 15 Hits - 7 BB - 14 SO. Decent, but UCLA was definitely his best start of the season

That "big hoss" waits on a ball a long time & keeps his hands back. He had a hard time with Hjerpe & Ferrer tonight....... but who doesn't have a hard time, when those two are bringing their A game.
