Baseball America's Mock Draft - First Round ver. 4.0
1st round - 20th pick: Cooper Hjerpe to the Braves 1st round - 30th pick. Jacob Melton to the Giants
If that happens, wouldn't that be 7 first round selections in the past 6 years? Rasmussen. Grenier, Madrigal, Larnach, Rutschman, Melton, and Hjerpe
That would give Recruiting Coordinator, Coach Ryan Gipson a few arrows in his quiver, wouldn't it?

He joined the staff as as grad assistant not a recruiter in '11-12, didn't return until Fall of '18 as volunteer assistant. Not sure he'd be the one given credit for most of that talent??

Chin can cite from memory the recruiter in each case so he didn’t mean it in that context though Melton and Gipson have a lot of common background.

As I am sure you are aware, every coach is involved in the recruting of student-athletes to the Beaver Baseball Program. As I am sure you are aware, every staff has one coach that serves as a coordinator of recruiting activity. He coordinates the overall effort. As I am sure you are aware, Ryan Gipson does NOT recruit every athlete that commits to OSU. As you are aware, I am fully prepared to discuss the precise duties that Coach Gipson performs in the coordinator's role.
There, that was presented in my new tone of George baseball authority.

That would equal the number in the 52 years before: Lyons, Christman, Thurman, Ellsbury, Kunz, Canham and Conforto.

Speaking of bright futures, I see Christian Chamberlain got promoted to AA. Promoted to Springdale, Arkansas. The guy who struck out 11 Razorbacks in a Championship Series now plays ball at a park less than 15 miles North of Fayetteville.

I took him to mean that Gipson would have more ammunition to support his promotion of the team not to support his personal promotion. Read it one way, and saw it another also. My reply was pretty generic. Clarification would have been pretty simple, yet snark was his choice for a poorly worded initial post!

George, you make too many assumptions - why on earth if you were an OSU coach making an in-home visit wwith a recruit and his parents, would it be necessary to only speak of players you had personally coached? Wouldn't you want to talk about Oregon State's history of player development and and being a path to pro ball if that interests the boy and his parents?
I have no idea what you would be talking about, but I would be for certain, talking about Ellsbury, Rutschman, Razz, Larnach, Grenier, Madrigal and all the many others like Moore, Boyd, Wetzler, Gaviglio, etc, etc. that payed professionally....in spite of not having coached them. They are examples of success.
Coach Gipson and our coaches are not recruiting an athlete to play for them personally, they are recruiting the boy to be a member of the Beaver team and pay in the OSU system. Wouldn't you agree with that?

That would give Recruiting "Coordinator, Coach Ryan Gipson a few arrows in HIS quiver, wouldn't it?"
So, all the coaches involved in recruiting? OSU's "quiver"??
As, stated my post was pretty generic, Chin took it as some personal affront. An easy clarification was possible, but was not the route taken.
I'll stand by the possible interpretation of a post that simply stated the named coach didn't recruit some of named players.

You seem to stand by any statement you make that, as I’m sure you will attest and most on here can agree, makes you appear to be one big ass.
