Going to be a wet weekend at Goss. Vandy and SD hit more how runs than we do, might be a busy time on the old warning track.

Going to be a wet weekend at Goss. Vandy and SD hit more how runs than we do, might be a busy time on the old warning track. Most teams hit more home runs than Oregon State. The Beavers are #191 in home runs. Why? Oregon State played 33 of 59 games at Goss, Bailey-Brayton and Smith's Ballpark. All three of those ballparks play big. Jackie Robinson is also huge. Oregon State, Utah, Wazzu and UCLA rank #8, #9, #10 and #11 in the Pac-12 in home runs. SD and Vandy are not used to Goss in a cold drizzle. I expect that SD and Vandy will see the number of home runs decrease dramatically.

If channel 12 forecast is right, there will be no baseball this weekend. They are calling for nearly 2 inches of rain between noon on Saturday and midnight Sunday in the valley. Not the kind of rain you can play through. Maybe a Monday Tuesday finish.

Seemed as if it was cold, rainy or both for almost every home game. Supposedly a triple-strength El Nino this year, ready for that to go away.

Let's hope we can get them in - Monday and Tuesday would be tough to fit in with work.

Mon/Tues finish would suck if they had to then travel somewhere.

And if San Diego and Vanderbilt have an issue with it, then we can just make the regional a best two-out-of-three with New Mexico St.

Not sure, but I think this is the way it is.

Not sure, but I think this is the way it is. If that's the case, Canham needs to send video highlights of our Oregon series(Or Arizona 2017) to the umpires & other coaches. He can even attach a note that says, I don't know what kind of weather gets a game delayed or called in your region? But out here its "Play Ball!" P.S. Bring your rain gear.

From one baseball fan located in Southern Oregon: Every day of rain we get now equals one day less of forest fire smoke. Rain on and play on!

But I have seen a bigger number in the past. Goss is at about 240 ft. above sea level. You also can factor in temperature and humidity. Cold and wet usually both work to keep balls in. I think that it is very important for a pitcher like Hjerpe, who tends to be a fly ball pitcher.
