Nice work Ferrer!!! If Dernedde gets on I won’t complain about his bat tell next year. K I’m holding you to that It's Derne time! He does squat all year to lull pitchers into a false sense of security. And then, bam!

I mean, Go Beavs and all, great win, but I have to believe that UCLA is thinking, thank gawd, let's go home.
Because that's pretty much what I was thinking heading to that 9th inning.
What a bizarro day and tournament...

Pitch count favored the beavs by 28. Nearly 900 pitches in these two games lolol

Not always pretty but great effort and great mental fortitude to come back from an absolute disaster and win in walkoff fashion.
Does that count as "soldiering on" in the face of acute adversity?

So now UCLA's great comeback is nothing more than a footnote in history. They broke our hearts, then we absolutely shattered theirs. The last win is the only one that counts. Tournament baseball rule #1 Ask USC (2005) or Miami (2006) or North Carolina (2006 or 2018) or Virginia (2007) or Kansas State (2013) or Arkansas (2018). For UCLA, what a great feeling to beat UCLA after they beat us three times in earlier meaningless games. Go Beavs!

I love pop flies to the right side, where the first and second basemen run into each other. Base hit to left to score one of the fastest players on the team to tie win is a twist, though. History can't repeat itself anyway, its physically impossible. So new twists are good, it adds variety and something different. Add it to your Oregon St Chronicles because "its a keeper."(Especially after the earlier game lunacy)

I didn’t think we had enough to beat them in game 2 so I’m more than happy to eat big ass crow on my earlier prediction. Good job Beavs! Now, get some sleep and finish it by beating the Cards tomorrow!

Actually that pop fly drop by UCLA was worse than the Arkansas one. Should have been a routine catch....hardly any ground to cover versus the Arkansas one

So new twists are good, it adds variety and something different. Add it to your Oregon St Chronicles because "its a keeper."(Especially after the earlier game lunacy) With the tying run at third, the righty with the best hair on the team hits a fly ball that should easily be caught by the first or second baseman on the right side. The ball is not caught and the runner on third comes home to tie the game. The big lefty slugger behind him plates the game-winning run.

it was really nice that the bounce off the concrete infield gave us something back and allowed Dernedde to tie it up. of course it's always appreciated when opposing 2nd basemen blow up popups.

Bottom of the ninth for the Beavers Dernedde infield hit to first Trosky strikes out, one away Bazzana doubles to left, Dernedde to third Forrester E4, Dernedde scores, two on, tied at 7 Melton base hit to left, Bazzana scores
BEAVERS WIN 8-7
I fell asleep after our at bat in the bottom of the 8th. Wow! All is forgiven related to that meaningless mess earlier in the day.

Those were two tired teams. Hats off to both teams. UCLA pitched a position player who last pitched in 2018. We have guys out as did they. First game over 5 hours. The last inning of fame two was our win with Stanford rested and enjoying the torture. Hope we can account tonight. I expect we will.
