13 SEC teams (out of 14 conference teams) were selected for the tournament. Only 1 team, Florida, is still alive with a chance for the WCWS. They have to beat VA Tech.
Pac-12 had 7 teams selected (out of 9) and 2 (OSU , UA) are already in and 2 (UCLA, ASU) are still alive.

Why not us? Love this team. Mazon just won't be denied. Haendiges pitched great through 5 1/3. She got the W and Mariah got the save. And that truly was a SAVE.

The Pac-12 destroyed the SEC in this tournament.
UCLA eliminated Ole Miss Oregon State eliminated Tennessee Stanford eliminated Alabama Arizona eliminated Missouri Arizona eliminated Mississippi State Arizona State eliminated LSU
Beavers went 6-1 in NCAAs, all on the road. They are 8-2 since ending a 10-game losing streak. Great job, Laura.

In the postgame interview Mariah was emotional (she's such a cool customer in the circle). Said that her parents were at her brother's graduation and weren't at the game. Hinted that getting them to OKC might be a challenge for her family financially.
Boy it'd sure be nice to find a way within the rules to get Mariah's folks to the WCWS to see their amazing daughter pitch.
I'm calling it right now. Mazon best OSU softball pitcher ever. (Sorry Tara, Brianne and Monica).

But, very happy for Mariah and the program.

Mariah leads a team with 1 senior (her), 1 junior and everyone else sophomores (6) and freshmen (14). And she's led them to the WCWS. I don't know how you top that. And they aren't done yet. There's no definitive way to declare a "best ever" but in my opinion, the case for Mariah is very strong.

Look at the talent that Tara had to work with. I'd rank Brianne McGowan ahead of Tara Beyster. Brianne led OSU to it's only Pac-12 co-championship. As far as Beyster's supporting cast. That's hard to quantify so I won't say you're wrong in placing her first. But I stand by my ranking.

That’s 3, with ASU leading Northwestern 4-1 in the 5th. They need to win tonight and tomorrow to advance and be Pac-12’s 4th WCWS team.

Will not compare. I remember 2006 watching us play. I think we will be good each year. We need another power quality pitcher. I do not see 4 or more kids transferring out. U of o has that already. The trip to Oklahoma City should enhance our appeal and help with transfers and pitchers.

The reason for their lack of advancement? Parity lol Was so waiting for them to say overrated but can't upset HQ now, can we?

William 44 said: "We need another power quality pitcher." Don't forget about Tarni Stepto...she went 9-2 in 13 games with 94 (!) strikeouts. I believe she was injured at that point. Assuming she will be good to go next season, the Beavers could have a pretty formidable duo in Stepto and Haendiges.
