If the beavers win the tournament, we can look back at Sebby’s performance tonight as the “Daniel Turpen” moment. A great outing that kinda comes out of no where and allows the bullpen to reset for the weekend. Great job Sebs!

You don't love our bottom four hitters going 0 for 13 with 7 K tonight? I said a few weeks ago that the bottom of the order would be better off not swinging and waiting for four balls. So we are ignoring Wednesday night when they went 6-17?

Going 6 for 17 was an anomaly.

Going 6 for 17 was an anomaly. Like the 3-10 in the last UCLA game.....got it.

Anyone else like how family oriented the Beavs were last night? They saw that pathetic little baseball brother went 0-2 and not playing on Friday and decided to also not play on Friday to make them feel better? So kind.

The pitching staff is set up nearly as if it were a normal week, rather than a 5-day grind, especially if "Game 14" of the Tournament, an "If Necessary" game on Saturday is not needed - IOW, if Beavs win their first game on Saturday.
"Mid-week game" (opening game of Tourney, for OSU): Hunter Game 1 of 'Weekend': Hjerpe Game 2 of 'Weekend': Kmatz Game 3 of 'Weekend': Pfennings.
Every reliever, except Sebby, should be available by Saturday (4 different relievers threw between 18 & 34 pitches on Thursday).

Sebby was calm, in control and outstanding. Note the last 4 Cooper outings have not been the K machine we were seeing earlier. Just from observations Pitchers have to have really great off speed and breaking balls to continue winning. Sebby had both! Great job!

My unpopular opinion:
Play tomorrow straight and do whatever needed to win that game, it is important.
Final game Sunday is largely irrelevant...I think we are solidly four now, guaranteed four with win tomorrow. Sunday changes nothing.
All-staff it Sunday to give some arms some work, and get some utility players some ABs and time in field.
And, finally, don't start Hjerpe in game one.

Era of 4.00 if fine but has been trending the wrong way the last month. Considering it was his longest and best outing all season I thought it was noteworthy

Sebby since 4/1 vs Furd: 21.2 IP / 7R / 7 ER / 34 K / 12 BB / ERA 2.91 ERA is 2.45 for the season and had one bad inning vs Zona (3ER in 1 IP + 1 IP 1ER prior ) to bump a 1.82 to 2.05 to 2.84... before now back at 2.45 with 0 ER over his last 5 IP. Hasn't been trending the wrong way at all

Well 1-4 were just 4-15. Not much to be proud of either.
