The do not only go by RPI. UCLA will get in based on finishing 3rd in the Pac 12. UCLA with a series win in Corvallis, 3rd place in PAC, and a record of 12-4 against Quadrant 1 will be a Tournament Team. And ( horrors), if any team can go through the PAC-12 'losers bracket' and win the PAC 12 Tournament, it might just be UCLA. Their pitching staff is a little banged up....but if they can put up 2 touchdowns like today, they definitely have a shot to come back.

If for some reason the 30 game conference schedule title isn't sufficient and there is some need to conduct an 8-team, 5 day affair in sweltering heat to determine something more, why not do the folowing.
Conduct a 4-team Conference Tournament in a more moderate climate location and double your ticket prices to satisfy your added revenue needs.
Or, the PAC-12 Conference could get their lame act together, build a real network and generate $578 million like the ACC did this past year.
Then we could be home healing up and preparing for the Regional test.

With a quick B9 (following an inside the park HR and now a base hit), this game could be over by 4:45 and Stanford game could start at 5:30....Beavs may yet, optimistically, get a 9:15 pm start time (temperature 95 degrees then).

Look at the basketball tournament. Same thing and it's in Vegas, yet hardly any fans.

League tournaments are ridiculous in any sport. Regarding baseball Play all these league games so you can find out who the best 8 teams are so you can then play a few more games to determine who the "best" team is. The BEST team was determined in the regular season.

Max Rajcic hasn’t thrown a pitch yet, Charles Harrison threw 26 pitches against Cal, and Austin Kelly threw 19 pitches today. Even their relievers are around 30 pitches except Flanagan. Judge you mentioned some injuries on UCLA’s staff. I’m not Sure who or what role they have played with the bruins.

PS- late game allows for: - not leaving an OSU game early to get decent food options - far far too much pool/drink, followed by happy hour time. Again... had to edit due to "disability". I apologize... or not?! 🍻
