And the Bear's best pitcher, Joseph King, closed out the last two innings.
So do we go with Hjerpe tomorrow night, or save him for Stanford??

(No, I didn’t watch it.) Glad it wasn’t us playing into the am. Anyone aware of the Beavs ever playing a game that began in pm and stretched into am hours?

So after all that, the night ended approximately only 2 hours later than expected. That's what happens with tournaments. Tonight will be our turn to sit around and wait.

I ended up watching the whole thing. UCLA attacked it with a Johnny Whole-Staff approach (per the in-game interview with their coach, their staff is beat up), and it did not work. Cal ran themselves out of multiple rallies that would've made the score look worse.

No, but its OSU's turn for the late game tonight so who knows how late that one will be.

Gives the Beavs their best opportunity to have an off day Friday. Also it gives Hjerpe 8 days before Regionals begin. Having to use Hjepe Saturday or Sunday would give him < 1 week between starts for the Friday 6/3 beginning of Regionals. King threw 28 pitches last night, as Cal advances (and they do, whether they win or lose today) he'd likely be ready for a start. King leads the Cal staff in # of starts, but Zobac may be their 'best' starter at present. He's averaged 6 IP each of the last 4 weekends (three were PAC-12 series), with a 0.95 WHIP.

Can't make an exception for one Beaver baseball game? Maybe it's lights out at the State Penitentiary?

The question I have is whether Mitchy Slick goes with Hjerpe on Friday or Saturday in a Corvallis Regional.
