Justin Boyd not All Conference is a freaking joke. Lead conference in steals, lead confernece in OBP, 9th in Avg, 11th in RBI and on All Defensive team. Oh well, but that's just stupid with how many guys they put on team.

Oh well, but that's just stupid with how many guys they put on team. That's fair but you have to say who he would replace. So it's obvious based on how many guys in certain positions are on team that they didn't do it by position...so, Milone for easy slam dunk. Will Simpson also easy eliminate. Jacob Tobias, also easy. Johnny Tincher (although first team all defense...course, so is Boyd). Nate Baez. Kody Huff. Tyresse Turner. Now, if some reason have to take out an OF...that's tough. But with this list of names, telling me that you only get 5 OF is pretty ridiculous...but I would for sure no question take him over O'Tremba who's stats other than SB are all just slightly higher than Boyd's but his OBP, SB and fact that he's first team All Defensive make it easy for him. That good?

With the announcement of all the players league wide that won something it looks like everyone wins a trophy.

Kmatz was 8-1 as a Freshman, same record as the "pitcher of the year" Alex Williams a senior.
It's hard to compare the impact between a pitcher vs a primary defensive starter on a teams overall success. That said, I will throw this out for conversation purposes, did any freshman in the conference have a bigger impact on his teams win total?

Boyd is an obvious snub here.....pac 12 leader in SBs, OBP, and all defensive team.....no brainer for all Pac 12 team.

Boyd is an obvious snub here.....pac 12 leader in SBs, OBP, and all defensive team.....no brainer for all Pac 12 team. Obviously 10 other coaches didn't think that way. Coaches tend to vote on postseason awards in part how a player performed vs them. Time to move in to actual important things... the team.

So when they show Melton's stats for Pac 12 player of the year why do they show his totals and not just what he's done in conf play? It should always be the entire body of work....and besides, our non conf RPI is #1 which means weve done extremely well vs a a really good non conf schedule.

I believe that Oregon State puts together the social media posts with Melton's stats for Pac-12 player of the year. I am guessing that they do that to make his stats appear even better than they are in conference play. Oregon State has done very well versus a really good non-conference schedule. But the conference honors usually ignore the 22 non-conference games in voting.
