starts Raeth against us Wednesday.
He only threw 22 pitches against Northern Colorado this weekend. When they played us, Raeth threw 35 pitches on Friday then 74 on Sunday.
He's either tired or Meggs is saving him for the tournament. The latter being most likely IMO.
If Washington wants to get into post season they have to win the tournament.

They may very well start Engman, he's been pitching on Friday or Thursday since their series with Yale. So he'll most likely be their starter Wednesday. I just want to know why Raeth only threw 22 pitches Saturday Against USC he threw 62 pitches UCLA 76 pitches Stanford 104 pitches Oregon st 109 pitches Does he have a tired arm or does Meggs have something up his sleeve?

He probably threw just 22 pitches because Northern Colorado is terrible and they never needed him....
He got a save in last game which was only game that was closer than 5 runs

There are four - count 'em FOUR! teams with worse RPI's than the mighty Bears of Greeley.

Tomorrow's Opening Matchup has two recently outstanding Pitchers: Hunter vs. Engman.
Comparing their last 3 starts, in the last month - I didn't include Engman's start vs. No. Colorado, because the Bears are so very bad (RPI 297):
Hunter 15-2/3 IP.....9 H....0 ER....15 SO....1 BB
Engman 18-1/3 IP....15 H....1 ER....18 SO....2 BB

Hunter does have 9 innings of shut out ball against o. I was driving and could not look up each pitcher's last 3 starts. Although it's baseball and I do not think Cooper's last 3 will mean much in Scottsdale. At this point in the season some guys will be worn down with lots of aches and pains and some will recover faster and handle it better. It's why I like a 30-game conference Champ/finish over a 4-5 day run where over half the field is already in the postseason. At coffee so I can look up Engman... *Personally once the ucks lost key starters I never gave them much credence. Their bats are ok, but not superior/elite (although many teams look that way vs OSU's month of May!?), and their pitching is just very weak. The pressure their staff puts on the bats to score every inning is just too much for them to be a postseason threat. I could see them being 2 and 'cue in any regional.

Engman (UW was 3-0) vs Furd, UCLA, SC... 1 ER over those 18.1 IP, 18 K, 4BB.
Game before @goss... 5.0, 6 H, 2R, 2ER, 2 K, 0 BB... 4-3 OSU win in 10.
Since being rocked in (4) mid season games (@asu, Zona, @cal, ucks) he's been very good... 29.1 IP, 23 H, 4 R, 3ER, 24 K, 4 BB, 0.92 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
