Hope he gets another chance soon and finds his MLB swing back.

And after a so so 2-4 tonight, with 2 2Bs, he is now 15-23 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs. He is hitting .425 in 21 games at AAA.

In order to play in post season he must be called up by a certain date, Sept 1? right??

Having been a fan of the sport since 1958, that is one of my fears, although last season said otherwise. The Seattle Rainiers used to have a player named Barry Shetrone who was a pretty good AA player, but who got a very small cup of coffee in the show. If you have a weakness they will find it. It is then up to you to correct it. I think young Mr. Conforto is too good of an athlete to not correct, so it's up to coaches to help find the flaws, like they did with Matt Boyd.

Figure that he will be back up when the rosters expand. Have to remember that he's only in his second full season in pro ball, and he certainly has shown the moxie to shine in big moments like the World Series. I am confident that he'll be back, and has a long career ahead of him once he fully understands how to manage the strike zone and hit what they throw him.

MC is a quality major league utility player. I think he can be in the league for several years and hit in the .265-.290 range IF he can begin to recognize pitches. I'm not around him, but from viewing replays he seems to be doubting himself and begun to guess on pitches.
AAA is a weak league, especially for pitching. World Series was awesome for MC. BUT... although a big stage for him, it's the same for the pitcher who has very limited scouting on a player from the other league in his 1st year. You'd be surprised how little info is shared between teams, especially from the opposite league. It's almost blasphemy.
MC will be called up, but not sure you need to worry about it being in time for the playoffs.... Go RedSox and Giants!!!

Just for reference, a Beaver fan was spouting off that he had just talked to a pro scout prior to the game in which UC Irvine ousted the Beavers in 2014. The scout had told the Beaver fan that UC Irvine had 2 position players who had better MLB potential than Conforto. Now, there is no denying that UC Irvine had an outstanding team and players.
On the other hand, Connor Spencer is hitting .289 at high A ball. Taylor Sparks is hitting a robust .178 at AA. Chis Rabago is hitting .270 at A level. The fan also stated that Conforto would be a decent player at the MLB level eventually per the scout, but not outstanding. We will see how Conforto's career goes, but the UC Irvine players whom the Beaver fan as well as the pro scout were so high on, are just about done in baseball.

It's all projection and complete chance... no one can accurately predict success in a sport. There are just too many variables and anomalies that can't be explained. I had a youth coach that was a stud in college in the early 60's, drafted by the RedSox, burst on the scene... hit over .400 for a month... but it was just a streak of everything falling right, seeing the ball as "big as a melon" he'd say... Never saw the light of day after that. Later he'd show up during Legion practices to hang out and take some BP on occasion. The ball just came off his bat like I'd never seen... just frozen ropes of the outfield wall... to all fields. It was watching him hit and throw that as a very talented 17 y/o I knew MLB was never in my future... LOL

In order to play in post season he must be called up by a certain date, Sept 1? right?? As was said below. The Mets are currently in eighth, 3 1/2 games behind 5th-place St. Louis, so it is a little early to get excited about this. However, I believe that, to be eligible for the post-season, he must be on the 40-man roster on August 31. That does not mean he has to be called up. 15 minor league players are on the 40-man roster. In the postseason, teams designate 25 players to play for that series but can technically choose from anyone from the 40-man roster, as well as some IR players, depending on rules that get a little murky for me to understand, to fill up the 25-man series roster.

I should add that this was why Darwin Barney could not play in the postseason last year. He hit .304 with the Blue Jays in 15 games, but was signed on September 13th, so he could not appear on the 25-man series rosters in the ALDS or ALCS.

Also, because I was curious, he is on the Mets current 40-man roster, one of two outfielders. The other is Brandon Nimmo, who is also playing in Las Vegas.
