Would someone please help me understand how the hosts of the Super Regionals are decided? I get the top 16 hosting, but how does the location get decided after that? Thanks in advance - google hasn't been especially helpful. GO BEAVS. Someone will have a better, more in depth version... basically top 16 get home regionals of (4) teams. The top 8 are hosts for the Supers matched with the bottom 8 seeds, 1-16, 2-15, 3-14, etc. Now that all get messed up if one of the top 8 get beat in their hosted regional. In that case I've forgotten the hosting rules, but I think if an upset occurs in like the #5 seed's regional, that team who won the #5 regional would then travel to the matches seed and the #12 regional host would now get to host a Super??

Thanks in advance - google hasn't been especially helpful. GO BEAVS. If all the National seeds win then the higher seeded team would host. 1 v 16, 2 v 15, etc. If a team who's not a national seed wins their regional then its based on seed within the regional. Lets say a #2 within a regional wins one bracket and a # 3 team within another wins their bracket then the #2 seed would host. Top 8 national seeds host regardless.. #9-16 would host if they play a team from the other bracket who isnt national seed. Hope this helps Although there have been exceptions. In 2007 OSU won their regional bracket as #3 seed and hosted Michigan even though the Wolverines were a #2 seed because Michigan's stadium was undergoing renovation and couldn't be used

Baseball America also at #2Gonzaga North Carolina Long Island Paired with the Charlottesville Regional of Virginia, East Carolina, Rutgers, and Campbell I am curious whether the West will get a third host site. It looks like a longshot at this point, unless someone really just kills it over the final two weekends. Gonzaga as a two is awful, but the Zags really have to go on a tear, in order to stand a great chance at hosting. Grand Canyon as a three is also awful. I think that North Carolina presents fewer problems. I would also rather play Long Island rather than North Dakota State. Baseball America's 2 and 15 Regionals are interesting. Shades of 2007. Oregon State played Gonzaga (0-1), Rutgers (2-0), Virginia (2-1) and North Carolina (2-0) in the 2007 season. D1 Baseball's Lubbock Regional. You would really hope that anyone beat Texas Tech. The Red Raiders would be very daunting in a Super Regional with their 1-2 starter punch. Arizona is probably the team that I second would least want to see winning that Regional. LSU would probably be the team I most want to play against, if the Lubbock Regional came to pass.
