I mostly remember him as Gus Grissom in "The Right Stuff", and he was excellent in that role.

My favorite Fred Ward movie would have to be Tremors.

Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult and Road Trip. Two classics!
Tremors was also good.

RIP. Always liked his acting. Never saw Tremors, but my favorite performances of his were:
--Gus Grissom in The Right Stuff. --A corrupt Indian (forgot his character's name) in Thunderheart...Couldn't stand that character, which to me is good acting. --One of the Anglin brothers in Escape from Alcatraz. That movie came out and my mom took me to see it when I was 11. Loved that movie as a kid still like it to this day. Fred Ward was once again outstanding in his role in that movie. I still wonder if they made it. I tend to think they did.

My favorite Fred Ward movie is Remo Williams, The Adventure Begins.
The movie was based on The Destroyer series of books written by Warren Murphy. Those books were frequently passed around the barracks during my Marine Corps days....
Last line in the movie: Remo: Chuin, why are you such a pan in the a$$ Chiun: Because it's the shortest route to your brain!
