Probably not a bad guess. Remember all the talk by Case about how LSU blew its staff winning the SEC tourney before they came here to be routed.

Meh, keep them sharp. There’s 5 days between games.
If you need to P12 starter order
Game 1) Hjerpe Game 2) Kmatz Game 3) Pfennigs Game 4) Hunter Game 5) Townsend - If needed
Hang out 5 days.
Repeat until dog pile

Probably not a bad guess. Remember all the talk by Case about how LSU blew its staff winning the SEC tourney before they came here to be routed. The two LSU pitchers that did not pitch in the Corvallis Regional were Ma’Khail Hilliard and AJ Labas. Labas was hurt from before the SEC Tournament and would have been hurt with or without an SEC Tournament. Because LSU went all-out, Hilliard threw Wednesday in the SEC Tournament after throwing the Friday game the week before, i.e. he was on full MLB rest but could only go 4 2/3 innings before being pulled. (It did not help that LSU had to play the extra Tuesday game that the SEC makes the 5-12 teams play, because the Tigers finished eighth. If the SEC had a real Tournament, Hilliard would have thrown on Thursday and would have probably been fine. Instead, he left the game with shoulder soreness and did not return until 2019.) Hilliard was scheduled to throw the Northwestern State game, but Cam Sanders started instead. LSU went full-on Johnny Wholestaff in the Corvallis Regional Championship game, starting the reliever who had picked up the win in the San Diego State game.

Let's assume we win the p11 regular season title How much pitching do we put into the P11 tourney? I would guess we keep the rotation on cycle, but keep the pitch count way down... It really depends on how the rest of the season plays out. What was Oregon State's overall record and who are the opponents in the Pac-12 Tournament. This is what we in the legal profession call an incomplete hypothetical. I mean Oregon State could go 2-5 down the stretch and stumble into the Pac-12 Tournament and then go 0-2 in the Tournament against say a bad USC and a UCLA. Oregon with two wins over UCLA in Scottsdale and Stanford with two wins over Arizona could finish undefeated and then play each other in the Pac-12 Championship Game and pass the 2-7 Beavers like the Beavers were standing still. Arizona, which went 7-3 down the stretch with a series sweep against Oregon State in Tucson, could also leapfrog a Beavers team perceived to be stumbling down the stretch. I mean the 2007 Beavers almost missed out on the Tournament not because their overall resume sucked. It was because Oregon State had three bad weekends in a row in May. And, if Oregon State packs in the tents in the Pac-12 Tournament after two bad weeks, that is exactly what you would see. Or heck, Oregon State plays it safe and gets the four, five or eight seed, as opposed to the two or the three and has to beat Tennessee twice in Omaha before the Championship Series. The Beavers either lose twice or their pitching is so decimated taking care of the Vols that they are easy pickings for an Oklahoma State or a Vandy. It is a lot easier to rest up some tired arms in the Corvallis Super Regional than it is in Omaha.

With the ucla series shifting to Thur-Sat, and the likely start of a regional on a Thursday, it makes sense to shift everyone up by one day. Not saying the Beavs don’t try to win, but the PAC schedulers should not be dictating it’s top teams’ rotations with a near-meaningless tourney the week before the tourney that matters.

Yes, you start on Thursday, if BYU is in your regional. The Cougars do not look like a Tournament team this year.

With the Conference Tourney most likely not affecting our tournament seeding, I don’t see the coaches lead in with the weekend rotation. I’d expect them to go: G1- Hunter G2- Hjerpe G3- Kmatz G4- Pfennigs G5- Townsend/bullpen day

I should of read your post before commenting the exact same thing haha.
