Wasn’t responding to you. GFY. That’s what she said! (Stop being such a board Ahole and your sensitive nature won’t be ruffled) I’m not. But saying being the #1 seed is a curse is stupid. Kind of like using an rofl emoji.

Rankings are fine and all. Gives fans something to talk about. To me the only thing that matters is where you end up in the post season. #1 or #64, win it all and rankings don't matter. Remember OSU in 2007? They were literally the LAST team picked to be in the Tournament. What was their top 20 ranking?

Remember OSU in 2007? They were literally the LAST team picked to be in the Tournament. What was their top 20 ranking? Oregon State was ranked 25th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll, 29th in Collegiate Baseball and 25th in NCBWA. They were unranked in Baseball America, which was the primary driver of NCAA baseball news at the time, hence the hand-wringing and trepidation. However, it would have been ridiculous to leave Oregon State out. It was ridiculous that Oregon State was a three-seed. The thing about the Committee is that they largely make their minds up the weekend before and the last weekend is just to tweak things, but Oregon State winning the series against UCLA pretty much clinched a berth.

Since 1999, the #2 seed has won three times, the #3 seed has won three times, the #4 seed has won once, the #5 seed has won twice and the #7 seed once. No seed has a particularly high success rate, but the #1 seed has a particularly low success rate, despite being the best team, in theory.

Rankings are just noise. Whatever your ranking, you still gotta win the game in front of you.
I don't see us as a #1 team. We've got grit, but we don't have that fire and our hitting is too temperamental. Still, we keep winning games, and that's important.
Go Beavs!

All I know is I was genuinely worried about this series, as the yellow toilet seats were playing good ball, and scoring a lot of runs....lots of late game rallies. Gotta hand it to Dorman. There were plenty of questions to answer with the staff, and they have been answered for the most part. Our staff has continued to get better and better. Now we are positioned well to be a top 8 seed, regional host, and super host if we win our regional. That's all you can really ask for.

I can buy your take but our pitching has developed into one of the better squads out there mainly because of how the pen has improved. Our batting is probably the one area that keeps us from stepping onto the top tier. Our 7-8-9 hitters need to improve if we are going to get very far come playoff time plus Bazzana needs his mojo back. Here’s to those fellas finding the groove in the next couple of weeks

That's where the test of a coach truly lies.
