JMU softball player Lauren Bernett died of an apparent suicide last week. She was their catcher and had just recieved honors from the previous weeks play. You never know what these youngsters are going through. Definitely a reality check for me as a fan.

Not to take away from the tragedy, but it reminds me of the Wazzu quarterback who killed himself a few years back. Hard to imagine that the bright stars of the game can have such a dark side off the field.
Poor kids. So much life left to live....
