How will we hear it if it is postponed or canceled? Twitter, I'm guessing. Or osubeavers.com?

Coming from outa town be nice to know before we make the trip. It feels like they are gonna move forward, or maybe waiting to decide a little later today.....it's not like the forecast has really changed. It's gonna be really wet.

Based on the current forecast and timing of rainfall, the smart choice is to scrub tonight's game and play two on Saturday. Might need to finish a suspended game on Sunday along with the already scheduled game if two cannot be completed on Saturday. We've done this before. Set the game times such that both games are in the best windows for playing without regard to TV. The network and their 27 customers are not the most important consideration. Between the all-weather surface and the experience in playing under these conditions for both teams, we should be able to complete this series by Sunday.

Saturday afternoon’s forecast isn’t looking much better. Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 11am. High near 53. West wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Game is scheduled to start at 7pm. Weather Underground projects last of lightning to be during 6:00pm hour. In addition the projected rainfall between 7pm and 10pm tonight in Corvallis is less than 1 tenth of an inch of rain. Game on!

National Weather Service shows nonstop rain thru the evening and possible thunderstorms thru 10:00 pm. The GOLU forecast method probably isn’t a good idea with ~4K people involved! forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=44.565&lon=-123.2635&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=graphical

FWIW, I've used national weather service most over the years for my fishing trips because it always seemed the most accurate

FWIW, I've used national weather service most over the years for my fishing trips because it always seemed the most accurate Most weather pages like AccuWeather rely on one of the major weather models and relatively inexperienced forecasters based in a central location. National Weather Service staffers are local, have long time in place, use wide variety of models and their experience in pattern recognition - they are going to give the best forecasts on average.

Well that makes sense! I just figured out the accuracy by trying multiple different ones when I lived down in the Reno area. Weather can often be extreme, and change quickly, so accuracy was important especially when going across mountain passes.

After one of the warmest and driest April months in 2021 to one the coolest and wettest April months in 2022...getting wacky weather is becoming the norm. NOAA data from the past 20 years: 2003 was the 36th coldest and 15th wettest April in Oregon's history. 2004 was the 11th hottest and 49th driest. 2005 was the 48th hottest and 23rd wettest. 2006 was the 40th hottest and 41st wettest. 2007 was the 61st coldest and 43rd driest. 2008 was the 6th coldest and 59th driest. 2009 was the 39th coldest and 38th driest. 2010 was the 21st coldest and 12th wettest. 2011 was the 5th coldest and 20th wettest. 2012 was the 42nd hottest and 8th wettest. 2013 was the 62nd coldest and 60th driest. The most average year in the past 20. 64th is exactly average. 2014 was the 32nd hottest and 51st wettest. 2015 was the 54th hottest and 25th driest. 2016 was the 2nd hottest and 35th driest. 2017 was the 43rd coldest and 13th wettest. 2018 was the 45th hottest and 30th wettest. 2019 was the 26th hottest and 3rd wettest. Wettest ever in Deschutes, Jefferson and Wasco Counties. 2020 was the 21st hottest and 18th driest. 2021 was the 28th hottest and 3rd driest. Driest ever in nine counties: Benton, Clackamas, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Linn and Marion. Weather changes constantly. Like the famous Fairmont saying, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."
