Couple years ago, we got a commitment from a HS recruit and she moved out here - IIRC to West Albany - to play her senior year. We ended up not having a spot for her in that recruiting class and she signed with someone else. Just curious whether that former recruit/commit played D1 and whether was a contributor with that team?
Or am I just imagining it?

Never did much.

She seems to have disappeared after the 2019-20 season at UT-Arlington. Her freshman year at Montana was most likely traumatic as a number of women left the team that year - that's the program that Brian Holsinger took over.

Yeah, remember that one well Katie M. Her family moved to Albany from MT to be near to OSU was the story. They were originally Oregonians also. They withdrew her scholarship offer, I felt bad for her, but if memory serves, that was the year Destiny committed to us and we didn't need another quard. I could be wrong on that detail ,but I know they did withdraw her scholarship. gogriz.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/katie-mayhue/4754

Seems like they had plenty of scholarships to give, then Destiny left so abruptly. I don't know the facts behind the scene, but it sounds like the old "Indian giver" idiom.

THAT rings ANOTHER bell for ME. I worked FOR DECADES with the "Besaw's" of Eugene. They came out from Green Bay, WI to help start up the American Can Paper Mill in Halsey, way back in '67'-'68. The youngest son of Don Sr, Randy was a really good high school wrestler, and Dale Thomas had ASSURED them he had earned a scholarship to wrestle for OSU. They attended every meet they could, and had Dale over for supper. Their DREAM! As it turned out....that offer was rescinded (if there ever really WAS one), and Randy went on to wrestle for uofo, and ALL the Besaw's became huge 'uck donors and fanatics (that part I KNOW is true), and they hated OSU's guts and liver.....UNTIL, Randy's son, Alex.... a really good baseball player at Sheldon......wanted to play college baseball....and since the schmucks STILL didn't field a team....they suddenly DIDN'T hate Beaver baseball's guts and liver...so, young Alex signed to play for Pat Casey and OSU! A winner! A a National Champion ! Very important to the Besaw's of Eugene. It didn't work out for Alex...who truly was a fine ballplayer....at OSU, and I THINK he later signed with South Florida, or one of the directional FloriDUH schools....and, though I haven't stayed in contact with the Besaw's of Eugene....I'm sure they ONCE AGAIN hate OSU's guts and liver!! Sometimes, it's a dirty business. Go Beavs!!

That's just what I heard from a booster, though; I have no idea what the actual truth is.

I followed this story closer to most - I live a few blocks from SAHS, where Mayhue played. bvrbooster has the story right. They moved to Albany for Katie's sophomore(?) season, having been all-Wyoming as a freshman. They expected an offer and it never came. I imagine Scott said something like, "We'd love to have her if she continues to improve", and the family stopped listening after the "if".
