Are both skilled passers that will help mitrovic get nice looks down low. Beaver girls will have a deadly inside outside game next year.
but not very much depth

Beers' IQ is elite and her passing shows it. She will struggle to defend in space when switched.
With the edition of Bendu, Gardiner now has a great mentor in someone who plays quite similar as her as she will need to learn how contribute without being much of a scorer.

Yea, but OSU doesn't usually switch with their 5's, the usually play drop. I think the big rotation will be interesting this year. To me Gardiner is a 4. Beers is a 4/5 and of course Jelena is a 5. Offensively all of the players are fairly skilled, so I wonder if we see a similar situation to the Marie/Orem/Bre Brown year where they just split the 4/5 minutes on almost a rotation basis. That year offensively the 4/5 position really looked almost identical, even thought none of those girls really had a 3 point shot.

I'll only add that is pretty much speculative on how much highly rated recruits perform at the elite D1 level. None of OSU's recruits have faced experienced D1, not in daily practice sessions, and not in games. The skills and IQ they've shown is versus HS talent, and on a very limited basis vs elite high school talent. Most of their competitive games are versus teams full of young women who will b=not play D1 ball. OSU needs front court depth, with experience. As talented as the new crop of Frosh are none are ready to carry the load of a top 4-5 Pac12, NCAA tourney team. This roster is still very incomplete. Good news it has a great base to build upon for this upcoming season a seasons to come. But, the recruits aren;t the answer, they are key pieces.

You might be right, however to me there is a difference between top 10 prospects, which these 2 are, and the top 20, 30 prospects that we have had in the past. Maybe I'm just optimistic, but Jones and Brown handled the front court fairly well on a very good team, however that team did have 2 All-Pac-12 guards. Also, Gardiner is highest rated the first US national team player we've had. Maybe they aren't ready, but to me there is reason for optimism here.

There have been highly rated "stars" that do not pan out at all, some contribute, some are immediate stars. I think TJ exceeded expectations as a Frosh post, but as stated she had key pieces to protect her game. However, the "rating" game is is not an exact science by far. Even those that are top 10 on multiple sites do not always pan out. Some hit the portal right away. 20/20 hindsight is always best, but sometimes I'd rather see a roster of 3/4* athletes with chips on their shoulders, that will stay the course. As the years have progressed these elite players tend to feel a need to be played as they were in HS and hit the portal if not (there are many other reasons of course). But, SR and staff still have plenty of work to do. A couple of "Ellie Mack" types would be nice!

I think it's a bit of my personality to see best case and possibilities in the new players. However as you point out, there are lots of highly rated recruits that don't work out. Heck, if you look at last years recruits, Greta was the much more highly regarded prospect, but to me if you look at there seasons, AJ was just as good or maybe even better.

Which is just to wait and see what happens. And In the meantime, enjoy the baseball team, currently ranked #2 in the country.
