So is the tournament extra games? Or did they eliminate some non conf games? Cuz last season we ended the reg season on May 29th against Furd. The conf tournament goes thru May 29th. Before this year, teams got 56 games. Oregon State scheduled 55 regular season games this year. Last year, the regular season ended the Saturday before Memorial Day. This year, the Pac-12 Championship Game will be the day before Memorial Day. 2021: two four-game weekends and 9 midweek games. Three one-game midweek series and three two-game midweek series. 2022: one four-game weekend and 12 midweek games. Six one-game midweek series and three one-game midweek series. The schedule is just compressed a week, so you just have three extra midweek games. If Oregon State could have scheduled a second four-game weekend series, the Beavers would have had an extra week without a midweek game. The Seattle game was supposed to occur between the Xavier and Irvine series. There really is not a place to play it, so it probably will not be rescheduled.

Be interesting to see how that affects teams in the long run. Midweek is where you develop people and mistakes are okay to happen. Could help us have stronger bullpens and deeper batteries in the long run.

With only 11 teams does the #1 team get first round bye?

With only 11 teams does the #1 team get first round bye? Only the top 8 teams get in. Double elimination format for those 8.

I like it. Helps RPI, helps the conference as a whole (ie, 2016 maybe Beavs, dawgs and devils ALL make the postseason with a tourney), but probably my favorite thing is that it helps get the teams ready and into tournament mode.
The couple of times we have struggled in a regional against weaker teams, that had to go through a tourney to get to the regional, I always thought maybe that tourney experience helps, even if just a smidge.
You can't ever worry about arms, IMHO. As long as you aren't doing needlessly dangerous things (throwing guys while fatigued, letting them pitch injured, making them throw 150 pitches, etc.) Then, a pitching injury is just as likely (maybe more likely) week one or two (See Pfennins, J and Frisch, W) as it is the last week of the regular season.

Who ia going to the tournament? I have a 2 bedroom condo in North Phoenix on Cave Creek Road if anyone is interested. It overlooks pool and hot tubs and I would say 30 minutes from the stadium. At this time I plan to go even though prices are too high. No smokers or parties (well maybe a small one if Beavs win)

Short walking distance to everything baseball, food, alcohol. No need to get behind a wheel. Baseball, food, drink, pool. We're not even bringing the clubs.
