From my limited understanding, this weekends series can hurt, but not help OSU RPI. UW RPI is about #120 (Beavs are #5 or #6). UW has lost 5 of last 6 games.
UW is 0-6 this season against teams in the top 60 RPI.
Their Friday night starter (the last 5 PAC-12 weekends) is Soph RH, Engman - (Tacoma CC last season). He has a 6.10 ERA and a BAA of about .350.
Of their 3 weekend starters he appears to have the worst stats. Maybe they use him as a sacrificial lamb against the opponents PAC-12 Friday Nite guy, and hope for the best on Sat - Sun. ??

They are pretty rough on all phases.
Of guys over 100 AB they have:
1 over .300 ave 4 over .250 ave 1 over .400 OBP
Raeth looks like their best starter by a good margin 2.23 era.
They have 3 pitchers with 25+ innings with an ERA under 4. Yikes.

Every now and again, a team will save their best pitcher for a better matchup, since most teams start their best on Friday. Maybe they hope to salvage one game. I like our pitching staff, and I look forward to what should be an easier series victory, especially after the two midweek games. The Nevada series hurt us, I think, facing off against Stanford.

I'd never assume anything anytime we play the Fuskies. I remember a series we just blasted them at home on Fri/Sat. A pretty ugly two game exhibition of baseball by them. They got us on Sunday and were pretty cocky. I remember telling the players to get on the bus and enjoy the 5 hour ride home with the rest of their 500 ball club. We met them again later that year...in Omaha. Damn glad that turned out OK for us. Reminder that last year we pitched the first 14 innings of no hit ball against them. Think they broke it up in the 6th with a bunt single. Might be just me, but I like these guys even less than the Ducks.

Don't care about RPI. I care about W and L. We are tied with TSDTR...they have an easier schedule in P12 play. So we need to rack up W's I don't care much about it either. If OSU simply takes 2 of 3 out of the remaining conference series, they finish like 22-10 in conference. Not saying it will be easy, or even simple. They will host with that record, regardless what happens in the tourney. If this team finishes 40-14 they will most likely host. And that's all that matters. Win 12 of the last 18. Easier said than done. But. I wouldnt want to play us.

Raeth is actually their closer and by far their best pitcher....they have a solid bullpen, that's their best group and are willing to go to them early an often. Raeth will go three innings too if he needs to.
Get up early and play good D and don't give up free runners and we should be good.

I've watched em a bit this season and wasn't impressed. Obviously playing them won't help our RPI. We just need to bone the dawgs cuz it's always satisfying to stick it to u dub, and especially meggs

We don’t. our fielding percentage is the best in the country. Our pitching staff has grown and come together. Can the bats produce the runs? That’s the big question. They have the potential but it’s baseball.

OSU wins and falls to #10 in RPI. Depending on other results, if the Beavers win tomorrow and the next day, they probably stay at #10. If Oregon State loses one, it's probably about a five-spot drop. Two is about a nine-spot drop. The Huskies are so bad that the Beavers really need a sweep.
