Probably going to p off some of you season ticket holders but here goes. All the reserved seats for every baseball game are sold yet when you watch games on TV many, many, many seats are not being used game after game after game. My request is if you aren't going to use the seats make them available to others. Thanks.

Yea it's weird, and I agree. My dad and I usually make it to one game per series and sell the others.....mostly because I can't commit to more than one. I have young kids and lots of other s%#t goin on.
Not sure why season Tix holders wouldn't sell the ones they aren't gonna use. It's pretty easy on stub hub......and if they don't care to do that give em away.
I do think the s%#tty weather has played a part in lack of Goss being filled.....but still, some will gladly brave the elements to see the #2 team in the country......Goss should be packed for every game.

For what its worth in both Gonzaga games there were a ton of tix on StubHub priced less than $10 that didn't look like got sold so agree with you but also people simply aren't buying them all up either....currently a nice supply for Friday night as well priced reasonably for #2 team in nation....

My request is if you aren't going to use the seats make them available to others. Thanks. You're not going to like the answer. As a long time season ticket holder that rarely misses a game - less than one per season on average, I too have noted the empty seats all around me. I grew up poor and I use what I buy, even though I can afford to be wasteful. Besides I enjoy baseball too much to miss games. I watched every minute of the Monday loss to Gonzaga so I'm there for the cold, wet and not so good times too.
So with this in mind, I have asked some of the absentee ticket holders over the years why they do not attend more than a few games each season. Here are the replies:
"I buy season tickets to guarantee seats for a series against a top conference opponent each season, a warm weather game or two, and of course, regionals" Several have told me the only reason they buy season tickets is to make sure they have regional tickets.
"Just too many other things to do in Oregon in the spring" "Golf is the main reason that I don't make it to many games"
"I'm coming from Portland and I'm never sure whether the game will be cancelled because of bad weather" (despite the fact that OSU plays on an all-weather surface and rain-outs almost never happen)
"We keep buying tickets to support the program, but rarely find the time to attend a game" or "Work gets in the way too often"
Distance and traffic are commonly said to be impediments for fans coming from Portland for regular attendance, but I know season ticket holders from central Oregon, southern Oregon, and from the coast that never miss weekend series.
With regard to getting unused tickets to other fans, the comments include "a big hassle", "my friends also share my non-baseball activities", "the tickets are cheap enough that there is no incentive for me to try to sell them to others".

The prices drop as you get closer to game day and game time, which rules out anyone who lives a bit away and/or needs to plan in advance. I get it though. They want to make as much as they can for their tickets. Look at the UCLA tickets. Prices are very steep, even for the Friday game, which is usually the cheaper game because it is harder to attend.

So what you are saying is the system is screwed up. Folks purchase the tickets because they have the cash on hand to do so, and it guarantees them a spot should the weather turn favorable and their calendars clear. Plus, it allows them the chance to watch the regionals and post season play. The exciting stuff. There must be a more reasonable way to accommodate the die hard fan and those with the disposable income who only want the perfect condition games. Because it sure looks bad for Beaver Nation, particularly with the seats right behind home plate.

so for sure there are games where people don't show but there are also a ton of people drinking beer away from their seats

The issue is kind of taking care of itself to some extent with the sale of standing room only tickets to Banners. By the third or fourth inning those patrons are drifting into many of those empty seats. No reason they couldn't expand that program to Casey's Corner. Also could adopt a policy that inning 5 the outfield bleacher fans could enter Goss and occupy any remaining seats. They are amongst the most enthused fans in attendance.

Blows my mind that people will just buy season tix and then not allow others to use the seats. There is zero excuse not to put em on stubhub. You can literally do it from the OSU website. People are goofy.

Aren't midweek games a poor example to base this complaint on? Aren't those always going to be sparsely attended, especially when we're working our way through the April from Hell?
I don't attend games in person; are the weekend games also sparsely attended? My impression is the attendance is just fine for those, but that's not a first-hand observation.

I will play along. I'm a season ticket holder who sits in those orange seats....
Was there tickets available through the ticket office for each of the Gonzaga games? I assume so. Feel free to buy any ticket and sit in any orange seat. If you are in my seat I will kindly let you know and you can move to another orange seat.
Until all the tickets are sold for every game... don't blame season ticket holders for missing a game for whatever the reason is.
When we have the need for extra tickets they are easy to buy and the "extra" folks generally sit in unoccupied seats in our section. There are no ushers stopping you. We have even moved under cover for some raining games. Buy a ticket, have a seat.... problem solved.
But to be clear.. if you buy a ticket it should be your choice on when you attend and how you manage your own tickets.
If you have watched much baseball... the away games have all kinds of empty seats. Until it is a great matchup, great weather or a playoff game it is just hard to fill the stadium even if all the tickets get sold.
