With so many roster spots to fill, Scott should obviously concentrate on getting the best players he can. If you have, or, more correctly, can plan on having, a normal allotment of returning players, I'm good with grad transfers to provide maturity, experience, and leadership to a young team.
In the current situation, however, I think we have to anticipate that 2 of our incoming freshmen will be on the Greyhound this time next year. If Scott brings in 2 or 3 grad transfers and 2 do, indeed, leave, he'll find himself in a similar position next year, with numerous holes to fill.
So, though I would be glad to get Bendu for next year, I would certainly hope that the emphasis would be on signing players with 2 or 3 years of eligibility remaining. It is absolutely essential to restore stability and continuity to the program.
Bear in mind that next year will be Jelena's 4th in the program. Who knows if she'll want to go beyond that? And, I believe, Noelle is gone after next year. That could just leave Talia, AJ, whichever freshmen stay, and whatever transfers have multiple years remaining.
We better hope we get several of the latter.

SR and staff are developing Plans A, B, C, D, thru You may get a great player if you wait around, but filling needs and filling the roster (with maybe more than the typical SR #?) should be top priority.

More than typical SR numbers should indeed be top priority; agree 100%
