Watching the highlights is instructive , Cooper punches a lot of guys out with a high heater (swing and Miss) or bottom of the zone off speed stuff (called).
I wonder if he is particularly good at disguising his pitches, or if it is being ahead in the count early and often that has made him a strikeout machine this year

He seems to mix his pitches particularly well.

His release is neat to watch. D1 had a good article about him last week and discussed his windup and release. It gives the batter so little time to comprehend what pitch is coming at them when they finally see the ball. Grackle nailed it when he said that Coop uses a good mixture of pitches to keep the batter off-balance.

The way he slings it though it might as well be 98....dude is straight up nasty.
