Last year, outside of Oregon State, the Beavers had played the #8, #10, #9, #2 and #6 best teams in the Pac-12.  Then, Oregon State played #4, #7, #5, #1 and #3.

Using current standings, once again outside of Oregon State, the Beavers have played the #10, #7, #5, #3 and #9 best teams in the Pac-12.  Left on the schedule are  #8, #6, #4, #1 and #2.

The big thing that really sticks out to me is that Jacob Melton was hurt between the California series and the UCLA series.  The numbers for the second half of last year were awful. Runs decreased by almost 40%.  It did not help that the pitching also fell of a cliff at the same time.  Runs allowed were up more than 35%.  That is probably more attributable to the increase in the level of difficulty.
