Madrigal is off to a bad start with the Cubs. 1 for 11 so far.....but I suspect that he will turn that around soon knowing him.

Madrigal 97 Larnach. 58 Kwan 9 Adley 0 Thank you Baltimore To be fair, there was some chatter that Rutschman could be on the Opening Day roster, but he strained his right triceps in practice a week before Spring Training officially kicked off. There is some concern that there may be some UCL damage, but so far so good. He was not allowed to hit or throw until about a week-and-a-half ago. It still seems like he has a couple more days before you could even think to start seeing some limited minor league outings from him. Also, an interesting note is Arkansas' Heston Kjerstad was injured in the same practice and is expected to be out until at least May after missing all of 2021 with myocarditis. |

Another factor, is that of the 4 players listed, 3 finished college BB in 2018.....Adley played his last college game on June 1, 2019 (painfully in loss #2 of the Corvallis Regional). 'Two and Q' at home. That game included a Rutschman error (3rd inning). In that sad 3rd inning (Gambrell pitching) there was a Creighton HR, 1 HBP, 2 errors, 1 walk, 2 singles - and the Beavs never recovered. |

Dang Madrigal now 1 for 15......0.067 BA. hmmm something not quite right with him.... He was over 300 in Spring ball. He’s probably fine although they didn’t play him much last week. |
