Over half way home, time to look ahead The options being losses or getting crushed in a sea of dong and sweat is really revealing.

Not saying Tennessee will win it all cause baseball is baseball and stats are just predictive tools. Anyone who can seriously predict a winner besides Tennessee with the available data is on a pile of cocaine.
Who’s snorting Colombias federal reserve in this poll!?!?

If Our pitching is healthy...Pfennings is a week-end starter, I think Omaha is very possible

Not saying Tennessee will win it all cause baseball is baseball and stats are just predictive tools. Anyone who can seriously predict a winner besides Tennessee with the available data is on a pile of cocaine. Who’s snorting Colombias federal reserve in this poll!?!? Tennessee has not played the schedule that Oregon State has played. Nonconference RPI SOS: Oregon State 18Tennessee 190Massey Ratings SOS: Oregon State 17 Tennessee 108
The worst team that Oregon State has played is Seattle, but Tennessee has played eight games against teams worse than Seattle.
Tennessee beat UNC Asheville in a midweek game in Knoxville. Tennessee beat 0-27 Iona in three games in Knoxville. Tennessee beat 7-23 Rhode Island in three games in Knoxville. Tennessee beat Butler in a midweek game in Knoxville.
If you remove games against opponents worse than Seattle, you get are left with Oregon State with 24 wins and Tennessee with 23 wins.
The next worst team that Oregon State has played is New Mexico and the next team is Washington State. And then Xavier.
If you remove teams worse than Xavier, Oregon State has 19 wins and Tennessee has 18 wins.
Or how about:
If you remove all teams worse than Grand Canyon, Oregon State has four wins (Gonzaga x2, Grand Canyon and Stanford). Tennessee has three (Vanderbilt x3).
Tennessee swept Missouri, but they looked as human as they have been since the three games in Houston five weeks ago. Missouri led 3-1 in the sixth before their bullpen gave up seven runs on Friday. Missouri led 4-3 in the sixth before their bullpen gave up eight runs on Saturday. On Sunday, Tennessee led 4-0 in the seventh before Missouri clawed back to 4-3. The Tigers stranded the tying run at third after the final batter grounded out to third.
On the other side of the ledger, Oregon State swept USC in Los Angeles for the first time ever and swept Nevada for the first time since 2018. The last few times that Oregon State was sitting at 24+ wins at this point in the season: 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018.
Tennessee does not have a game against a team better than Grand Canyon until the trip to Gainesville starting on the 22nd.

I get it but until they lose a few they are #1. They can hit and pitch. Until they play someone that matters we won’t know anything really. Maybe we will meet them at the CWS and make them mortal? Pfenigs wrecking TN in the final game of the CWS would be epic.

Tennessee did sweep Vanderbilt in Nashville. But, other than that and sweeping Ole Miss on the road their schedule has been fluffy soft, and almost entirely at home.
Honestly, I don't think I would want to be in the position they are in. Sure, this is unprecedented for the Vols and momentum on their side, but a bit of fools gold in there, and the #1 moniker is a death knell in the post season. We shall see, but the second half of the season should be pretty telling about where they really are, especially a series on the road at Florida.
Also, I voted dogpile! I mean, this has been a fun team to watch and I'm guessing they will make us proud wherever they end up, but what are we doing here? Why expect anything less?! If the Beavs get on a roll at the right time there is more than enough talent on this roster to make it all the way! One game at a time of course, and need some bounces to go our way to get to the final series, but I like the fight on this team.
Go Beavs!!

The goal is Omaha. This team, as it is now, can do that. With Pfennigs back at 100%, it'll make that task easier.
As for winning it all, well, Lady Luck has a lot to say in the matter.
So none of your options fits my thinking; you need a new option. Omaha + alpha. Maybe we walk away as champions. Maybe we don't.
