why Rutchsman isn't on the Orioles roster? Still recovering fully from triceps injury. Last I read on Orioles site was that he is expected up/on the roster in late April as the backup catcher. But, as of April 3rd he was still limited to hitting off the tee, and only light throwing. So any timeline seems to be up in the air. Plus it's the Orioles!

also not to hijack this thread, but since it is about Beavs not playing, why is Larnach not on the Twins active roster? I see he is listed on the 40 man roster, but what's up with that?

Larnach is playing for the Saints. If he's on the 40-man, the Twins can promote him at any time and don't have to drop anyone from their 40-man roster, so it's a simple shift of Player A for Player B. In the old days, it would also mean he's protected from the Rule V draft, which I think was bargained into oblivion in the recent collective bargaining settlement.
If he wasn't on the 40-man and the Twins wanted to bring him up, they'd have to drop a player currently on the 40-man to do so. When you drop someone from the 40-man, he must be optioned to a minor-league roster. If he's out of options, then he's Designated for Assignment (DFAed), has to go through waivers and can be claimed by another team or (in some cases), file for immediate free agency if he chooses not to report to his minor-league team.
It's complicated. But being on the 40-man also gets Larnach more money than the standard AAA contract.

Nice explanation, Henry. Thank you. Not sure it's entirely correct, but if you are still on the 40-man they consider you a prospect. When they drop you from the 40-man, they no longer have much faith in your future in the organization.

For those that have a Twitter account, there is an account names @beaverbullpen that posted a list of all OSU players in the minors.

Twins OF Alex Kirilloff got put on the DL with a bad wrist. He could be there for a while he's had a lot of problems with it so Larnach could be there for a while.
Wrist injuries can be debilitating. One derailed Jim Wilson's and Andrew Susac's MLB careers.

He had a pinch hit appearance.....but went 0-1
