Dukart bumped his slash line v the Trojans on Friday evening. He's now .250/ .357/ .542. Plate appearances have been limited to 28 but he has 6 hits, 2 BB and 2 HBP for the .357 OB%, which is very respectable. What stands out are the 2 triples and home run for a SLG of .542 . . . that is "Meltonesque"! Jake is a better bat than .250, and with more PT he should raise that. Jake's plate discipline and ability to get on base will exceed his BA and with his glove, I hope he gets more PT in spite of the stiff competition at 3B.
Forrester raised his BA to .309 with 3 timely hits last night. Garret is a load - in 130 plate appearances, he has been on base 65 times. He is 28 for 90 with an eye-popping 35 BB and 5 HBP. His slash is now .309/ .515/ .400. MC can hit him anywhere in the order. Garret has developed nicely at OSU - offense and defense. He's hit two out and I eagerly await the next "Donkey Dinger"
Hjerpe - what can you say. Shades of Luke? When he throws, the place is crawling with scouts - more than 25 last night. He's working his way into to the first round conversations
Hum Babe!.

Many have had "moments", to take a true step forward there needs to be some consistency now. It is not MLB where a guy can be given 20+ games to find his way out of a slump, but the carousel on the left side hasn't slowed and allowed any solidification of the lineup.
I'd like to have seen a guy get 2+ solid weeks of ABs. This series, leading into multiple NC games would be a good opportunity to stick with a guy. If it doesn't pan out, the carousel approach would not be any different than what it is now.

Go Dukart! Any steady production at 3B and DH would be huge. Keep Dernedde’s glove at short. Trosky is fine, but from the limited sample, I think Dernedde’s range, especially to the left, is better. Plus, a steady DP combo is obviously key.

Who is a pitchers worst nightmare with bases loaded, coming to the plate?
Big Country! Kids plate discipline is next level.....and now he's hitting again! He might be my favorite player on this team for reasons already mentioned....plus the sweet mullet, and the walk up song....best walk up since dancing queen, imo.
Although, I do dig Melton's remix version of the music from the cemetery scene from the The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

Dukart also made an exceptional play at third. Update that to several exceptional plays!

Wheeler leads the team in OBP. Forrester and Boyd are basically an AB apart but both over .500.

Wait.....he really has the music from cemetery scene of Good, Bad, and the Ugly as his walk up song? That may be about one of the coolest things I've heard in a while.....that is bad ass.

The Ecstasy of Gold I believe it is....it's some kind of re-make, but it's that song I'm almost 100% sure.....it's definitely from the G, the B and, the U
