I was curious as to how Kylor Kelley is doing and saw he ended up there. Went to look for his stats and found this... www.proballers.com/basketball/league/120/british-basketball He's got the top rebounding game and a couple of the top blocked shot games and the highest efficiency game listed On their hot players list. I'm hoping he can get to this side of the Atlantic some day, unlees Europe pays their top guys well. |

Basketball as a sport has never become as popular in the UK as it is in mainland Europe. The pro league in the UK is not close to the level of other European leagues. I just looked at the current rankings of European club teams and there is not a UK team in the top 50.

That said, the London Lions played and lost the British Basketball League Trophy and is second in the British Basketball League Championship. The Lions were a three-point loss away to Avtodor from passing the Bakken Bears into the quarterfinals of the Europe Cup. Instead Bakken just played and lost in the Semifinals to UnaHotels Reggio Emilia (Stevie Thompson's team). As an aside, Stevie Thompson's UnaHotels Reggio Emilia will be playing a home and home (Reggio Emilia and Istanbul) with Bahçeşehir Koleji Spor Kulübü for the FIBA Europe Cup on the 20th and 27th. One of Bahçeşehir Koleji Spor Kulübü's players is Richard Solomon III, who graduated from Berkeley in 2014. |
