UCLA was down 3 going into B9. They're the hottest team in conference right now with a six game win streak and escaped Tuesdays' game in extra innings (11) against a team with a .321 overall win percentage. |

Midweek scores/pitching will not make or break teams with strong weekend staffing.
Right now OSU is not there. We've won series we should, lost a home series we probably shouldn't have. This weekend is a must win or sweep showing more consistency off the bump.
What the mid-week games have shown me... OSU is not deep in the pen or bench.

It seems like every team has midweek adventures, except maybe the Vols so far?
Yesterday was promising for sure. Hunter has been very good. Ive liked Lawson's potential since last season. He could end up being the closer of the future.

He could end up being the closer of the future. We have a weird staff. With pfennigs back we will have Hjerpe, Pfenigs, Kmatz, Ferrer, Hunter and Lattery all capable of extended innings. We have a weak bullpen but it’s nice to have so many guys capable of ‘starting’ in a tourney. |

He could end up being the closer of the future. Tennessee is 28-1. Only one of the Vols' wins came in extras and that was a midweek home game against James Madison. Tennessee blew a 7-1 lead and allowed James Madison to tie the game at 7 in the seventh. The game was suspended and continued the next day. Tennessee scored one in the eighth on a bases-loaded HBP. The Vols' closer Redmond Walsh came in. Walsh had not allowed a run since the loss to Texas in the College World Series and had not blown a save in almost a year. Walsh gave up a first pitch home run to tie the game at eight. James Madison put two on with two out, but James Madison's batter lined out to short to end the threat. Three of the four Tennessee hitters in the bottom of the 10th singled for a 9-8 Vol win. Everyone has midweek adventures, even Tennessee. They just seem to win 'em more often. |

They won though. Impressive. Oregon State jumped another spot with Grand Canyon's win. The Beavers are 14-2 against the #18 SOS slate of non-conference opponents, the nation's #1 non-conference RPI. If only, the Beavers were more dominant in conference......... |

We haven’t played the big guys yet. If we win the USC, UCLA, UA, and Oregon series our in conference RPI will be just find. Assuming we don’t drop UW and Utah ofc.
We still have 2 games with Zaga and a series with the dirt bags. Plenty of resume games on the schedule.
