Also, you quoted the old rule specifically in your initial post citing the runner on base situation. You did not know the rule change. Period. I call bull again. What is bull is your reading comprehension. As stated, "a basic" overview. Your arrogance and general limited interpretation of posts here matches your moniker. Should I cut & paste every updated rule to please your limited skills in this media?

It was, but runners have to be returned to base after leads, foul balls, etc. The HP ump has the discretion on when he starts or pauses the on field clock. The only reason there is a clock is that umpires were inconsistent in their enforcement. The visual clock makes it more "public", in view. Byr, still the ump in charge of the clock (bases if no visual field clock) has a lot of discretion. The system is just too convoluted and the visual clock leads to the stupid fan count downs. IMHO that's just not part of this game. So the students are having fun counting down. A travesty I tell you, a travesty. Do you actually attend games? If so you'd know that most of said count down is not students. Nor do ¾ even know there is a clock!

It was the students last night and I was sitting right behind the plate. As for the unproven starter aspect for Hjerpe, your March 16th post in the thread about the Beavers being lucky they weren’t 0-2 against GCU said exactly that.

Well, almost every fan on the 1st base dugout sections were counting. No students there.
Now, back to the reading comprehension and interpretation skills...
Firstyou claim I stated he wasn't a "quality Pac12 starter" vs now "unproven". Which is it? They are not the same.
One becomes quality when you prove it.
My comments, so generously taken out of context, were in the multiple discussions of opponents, OSU's lofty rankings, etc.
Point being the (3) scheduled weekend guys had something like 18 decisions total amongst them (11-7 or close, feel free to look it up). That the "ace" was coming off a 3-6 campaign.
The comments made no judgement or prediction on the capability or possibilities.

I don’t like how they didn’t pitch like this against the ucks. Come on rest of Pac-12, don’t do this beat the Beavs only to lose to o.

I don’t like how the didn’t pitch like this against the ucks. Or, worse... they did!? *not a Furd fan, but still have never seen a player with 5 Ks in one game! Kinda felt for him a bit. He was mentally lost by #4

Except for the important fact that the rule was amended in 2021 to include situations with the runner on base. It was, but runners have to be returned to base after leads, foul balls, etc. The HP ump has the discretion on when he starts or pauses the on field clock. The only reason there is a clock is that umpires were inconsistent in their enforcement. The visual clock makes it more "public", in view. IMHO that's just not part of this game. I agree about the stupidity of the count down clock. But I disagree about the “stupid fan count downs.” I think it started to get to Alex, even though he was provoking it more and more. And by provoking it more and more, he was out there longer in the cold and rain.
