Mitch’s minor league experience might get him that shot, but his Oregon State stint really doesn’t show squat one way or another to this point.

He definitely will be on the radar if this continues. The program is clearly going in the right direction.

Maybe sometime down the road Mitch might feel the need to move on to managing a bunch of coddled millionaires. For now he seems perfectly content at OSU.

But that day won’t be for a long, long time. |

The last time that happened, Dick Howser in 1979. He had been the Yankees 3rd base coach for a decade, went to coach Florida State for 1 year, then the Yankees brought him back in 1978 to manage.
I'd guess there's slim to no chance, but there's always a maybe.
