I would very much like to see a rule change where 6 fouls are the basis for disqualification rather than 5 for college games.
So often it seems games are determined by the fact that a player or players have to sit out large portions of the games due to the 5 fouls rule.
Maybe the same thing would occur with a 6 foul limit, but I think the more we are able to see the best players in action, the better.
At least, why not try the rule for a year and evaluate the results.
Look forward to hearing from members of the group.
Thank you!

Simple solution. Don't foul.
The Big East went to the 6-foul rule at some point in the 1980s. The games were ugly streetfights.

The Beav's are one of the lowest fouling teams in college. This would NOT be to their benefit.

I've never liked seeing a player disqualified because of 5 fouls. The way the refs call them sometimes, it seems they anticipate that someone like Taylor will have committed one, and, conversely, that a quick little guard driving to the hoop must have drawn one.
Foul trouble does add a nuance to the game, however, and I wouldn't like to see that taken away entirely. How about, when a player is whistled for foul # 6 (or more), it's automatically 3 foul shots - 4 if it's on a 3 point attempt.

When a ref has you in their crosshairs, it doesn't matter how many fouls you have available.
